When it comes to birthdays, attendance secretary Candace Morgan is always ready to celebrate, especially for someone as cherished as her coworker, Tonya Johnston. This year, Johnston’s celebration was more than just a cake and candles, it was a day filled with laughter, surprises and heartfelt gestures
“We ate food, lots of food. I made two cakes for Tonya’s birthday,” said Morgan. “We ate at a local restaurant, Las Vaquitas.”
Johnston’s son surprised her with flowers. The small but thoughtful act added even more love to her day.
“When he realized it was her birthday, he went out and bought them (flowers),” Morgan said.
The celebration wasn’t just about what was served at the table, it was about the personal touches that made Johnston feel truly special.
“Kelly got her a meerkat that reminds her of her son. I bought her some house slippers, a head massager and some fun ’80s-style pens,” Morgan said.
