The softball team is headed back to its 4th straight Class 6A state tournament.
The Panthers took care of business defensively on the field in both regional games by shutting out both teams.
The bats were hot early for the Panthers, who scored 10 runs to run rule Dodge City 10-0 in five innings.
In the regional championship the Panthers beat Lawrence Free State 5-0.
“I would say that we all played big roles in the game in some capacity,” junior Charlie Ayalla said. “When our offense struggled, our defense and pitching backed us up.”
The team will find out who they play in the first round of the state tournament on Friday.
