The Lady Panthers qualified for the state tournament after their win against Lawrence Free State 5-0 on May 20.
The Panthers were then sent off to the state tournament on May 28 before their first game on the 29th.
Game one was against the Blue Valley North Mustangs and won 6-4. Senior Carsen Carpenter homered in the the top of the third inning scoring two runs for the Panthers. Pitchers senior Ava Boden and junior Ashlyn Hamilton dominated the circle throughout the game.
The Panthers then fell 7-1 against defending state champions Olathe West. Senior Ava Boden started on the mound with sophomore Kelby Clingan coming in as relief for five innings.
Panthers then faced Mill Valley Jaguars for the third place game and won 8-2. Junior Karlie Demel hit a homerun in the 6th inning with freshman Addie Gutzmer starting in the circle with only two allowed runs and seven hits.
The Panthers ended up taking 3rd place overall in the 6A State Championship.
