DHS teacher Caleb Thornton was arrested at 7:53 p.m. on Sept. 29, according to an email from principal Gretchen Pontious to students and their families.
Thornton was charged with child misconduct, endangering a child, use/possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia in the human body, possession of marijuana and distribute or possess with the intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of school property.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” Pontious wrote in the email. “We understand that this news may cause concern, and we remain committed to transparency and the safety of every student in our care.”
