Whether it’s riding a scooter, playing his trumpet or being in the pool, senior Henry Blagg finds a way to occupy his time.
Blagg first got introduced to scootering when he was hanging out with some older friends that had an extra scooter for him to ride.
“I actually got hurt my first time riding trying to show off,”Blagg said. “my hands took a beating,” Blagg said
Even after getting hurt, Blagg stayed persistent, hitting the skate parks weekly and putting in the work to improve.
“It was definitely challenging to stay persistent with band,” Blagg said
Even with juggling and swimming, Blagg would ride his scooter late after his rehearsals with his friends still grinding and trying to improve.
“I wouldn’t say I was very good, but I can put up a fight in a game of S.C.O.O.T,” Blagg Said
S.C.O.O.T is a popular spin off of the game HORSE in basketball. One person attempts a trick, then another tries until one fails enough times to spell out S.C.O.O.T.
“Trying to balance band, swimming and scootering gets challenging trying to stay consistent on playing my trumpet and still trying to get some time at the skate park is challenging, But if you stay persistent you can do it,” Blagg said.
