Walking back into class, you may have noticed something new — locks.

All across Derby High School, new locks were installed in the classrooms. Teachers no longer have to step outside of the classroom in order to lock a classroom door.

“A teacher does not have to open the door and lock it with a key. The teacher can remain in the classroom and turn the device,” said Keith Watkins, who works in security.
