The KSHSAA State Music Large Group Festival was on April 10 at Wichita East High School.

Band, orchestra and choir groups competed.

Wind Ensemble, Philharmonic Orchestra, Madrigals, Philharmonic choir and Bel Canto received 1 ratings, which is the highest rating given.

Symphonic band received a 2 rating.

“I think we were all kind of nervous just because we’ve never done a full ensemble (with strings and winds) before and we never ran it fully through until the day of,” said freshman Katrina Turner, who is part of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
