Students show support for DHS math teacher

After the death of her husband, math teacher Anita Curtis has taken some time off to grieve. In the meantime, her students took it into their own hands to lift her spirits.
“Mrs. Curtis is my favorite teacher and her husband has been in the hospital and he passed away two days ago,” junior Landon Cooper said. “So I decided that I wanted to do something for her to show that I care.”
Landon Cooper got a group of kids together, including David Zimmerman, Kylie Bailey and Isabella Karel.
The students are designing a poster while she is away and plan to reveal it to her when she gets back. They will also write notes.“(Other students) were totally on board with the idea,” Cooper said. “Honestly I was only expecting to get my class and I got almost all of her classes.”
