Football shuts out Bishop Carroll for fourth win
September 27, 2019
Defense was the focus for both teams in the game of the week between the Derby Panthers and Bishop Carroll Eagles.
The Panthers faced their first true test at home on Friday. The Panthers didn’t disappoint the home crowd as they won 21-0 and dominated defensively.
“The defense is real underrated to me. We lost a lot of seniors last year and everyone thought the defense would struggle, but they are stepping up right now,” senior running back Tre Washington said.
Derby’s offense faced their first struggles of the season as Bishop Carroll’s game plan to clog up running holes worked as they “stacked the box with eight people,” Washington said.
The Panthers offense found a way to prevail to improve to 4-0.
Derby has outscored opponents 181-26
