Students anticipate return to normal activities

It has been more than a month since Kansas established a stay-at-home order, which was adjusted on May 4.

Students have not seen some of their loved ones and friends, which is why sophomore Adelia Jones, like most people, cannot wait for life to return to normal.

“I’m looking forward to going out to restaurants with my family and friends and overall being able to go wherever when I need to. I want to hang out with my friends again and go shopping,” she said.

Sophomore Macy Dowell is counting the days until quarantine is over.

“I’m oddly looking forward to impulse drives to Target and T.J. Maxx,” Dowell said. “Other than that I can’t wait until I can sit inside Chipotle. Eating with my friends over Facetime is not the same.”

Quarantine has prevented many students from seeing their loved ones, too.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all of my cousins. My family gets together a lot so not being able to see everyone had made my life a little boring,” sophomore Kerrigan Flanders said.

Even going outside has been affected.

“I want to go to places like the zoo and be with my friends because I love them so much and I’m addicted to going out places,” sophomore Aubrianna Rice said.

Freshman Christie Schroeder wants stores and shops to open up.

“I just want to go get my nails done because I am looking rough,” she said.
