Interview with new assistant soccer coach Molly Whitwell
Why did you apply for the position of assistant girls soccer coach?
“I wanted to coach because I love soccer. I wanted my experiences of playing soccer to help future and current soccer players get better and enjoy the game as much as I do.”
What is your soccer background?
“I grew up in Plano, Texas, playing for FC Dallas. I played (in the Olympic Development Program) and for Plano High School. I signed to McPherson College my senior year and played there all four years. I was first team all conference and goalkeeper of the year my senior year.”
What is one thing you have enjoyed this year?
“Everything. But, if I had to pick one thing, I would say game days.”
What have you added to or brought to the team this year?
“Hopefully I added goalie training to practice and of course my two cents when needed.”
What is something you are looking forward to in upcoming years?
“I am looking forward to seeing how our younger players progress. I think the team has a lot of potential and it will be exciting watching this team accomplish success.”
