April’s full moon rises tonight. The Pink Moon.

Different from our other full moons this year. Tonight this moon is the first of two supermoons this year.

A supermoon is said to be larger and brighter than normal moons.

This moon is not going to actually be pink though.

It is called the Pink Moon because the April moon harmonized with blooms of a particular wildflower native to Eastern North America.

Phlox subulata. More commonly known as creeping phlox or moss phlox.
