McAlister’s, oneof the several new delis in Derby, opened today, and I had the chance to try one of their sandwiches a day early.

The sandwich I tried was the Turkey Jalapeno Crunch, a toasted sandwich served on a jalapeno roll with turkey, bacon, mayo and jalapeno potato chips.

The taste was amazing — the combination of the bacon and jalapeno was delicious. 

The consistency was great, too. The crunch from the potato chips was a welcome addition. I have put potato chips on my sandwiches at home, but I’ve never had one from a restaurant before.

The sandwich was a good size, easily enough to fill you up.

The Turkey Jalapeno Crunch was a good sandwich, and you should definitely consider trying McAlister’s Deli soon.
