The girls cross country team qualified for the Class 6A meet by taking second in regionals on Oct. 23. They finished with 42 points, two points behind Dodge City. 

Seniors Ethan and Austin Hock qualified for the boys.

The state meet is Saturday in Augusta. The boys team races at 10:40 a.m., and the girls are at noon.

Sophomore Katie Hazen took second with a time of 19:55, while senior Vivian Kalb was fourth with a time of 20:25. Freshman Piper Hula placed seventh at 21:09. 

Also qualifying for state are senior Lexi Silva, senior Bridget McAdam, senior Gretta McEntire and freshman Ellison Beran. Freshmen Ellie McCracken and Dailyn Calloway, sophomore Dakota Rotramel and senior Morgan Haupt also qualified as alternates.

On the boys side, Ethan Hock finished with a time of 17:16 for eighth overall, while his brother, Austin, was 11th at 17:34.
