The Panthers bounced back quickly.

One week after a tough, nail-biting, overtime loss to Manhattan on Sept. 2, the Panthers responded tonight with a 69-20 win over Salina South.

Derby had much more success in the throwing game this time around with three passing touchdowns.

Quarterback Brock Zerger ran for the game’s first two touchdowns, then hit Travon Rose on a 30-yard pass.

Running back Dylan Edwards scored on a 57-yard run for a 35-0 first-quarter lead.

The Panthers punt return team was also playing at a high level – they had two punt returns for touchdowns from Gavin Pfannenstiel and Demaria’e Baker.

Derby’s defense was also effective.
