Socktober has arrived

Many of us often take for granted something that we wear almost everyday.

Socks.

The school’s HOSA club turns October into “Socktober” and takes donations for news socks to give to those in need.

“We ask homerooms to collect socks through the month of October,” Kathleen O Brien said, who sponsors HOSA. “We will collect all of the donations the last week of the month so we can sort and count them. Then, we will deliver the treats to the winning home room on (Oct. 31).”

The proceeds will be donated to the Wichita Children’s Home, ICT Street Team, as well as other local charities that serve homeless individuals in Sedgwick County.

HOSA hopes to have many new socks donated and to beat last year’s record of 1050 pairs of socks.
