Football cruises into second round of football playoffs

The Panthers mauled their competition again, beating Topeka 69-12 in the first game of the Class 6A playoffs.

Heading into halftime the Panthers were leading 56-6.

To start the game off right, junior Demaria’e Baker returned the opening kickoff 63 yards on the for the 7-0 lead.

Senior Dylan Edwards and junior Derek Hubbard combine for a total of 5 touchdowns in the first half. Edwards had 117 rushing yards.

Derby cruised through the second half, even getting an appearance from freshman quarterback Krys Dorsey.

The Panthers will play host to Lawrence on Nov. 4.
