Soccer wins third straight regional championship

The soccer team advanced to the Class 6A quarterfinals by beating Garden City 2-0 in the regional championship on Thursday.

The Panthers had tough conditions with heavy rain fall, but with stellar defense combined with goals by Leo Fernandez and Angel Vielmas, they won their third straight regional title. 

They moved onto the regional title game with a 4-1 win over Junction City. Fernandez scored two goals, while Riley Beasley and Keaton Rawls each scored one. 

The Panthers play at Washburn Rural on Tuesday for the second straight year in the quarterfinals.
