Winter traditions are a kind of happiness people enjoy with their family and friends

“I genuinely believe I treasure the time the school allows us to take off during winter break.

I find that it is a good time to relax and get things done and also do something with our friends and family,” sophomore Lydia Richardson said.

Winter break is usually a time to spend with friends.

“When it’s cold, playing games and going outside and playing with snow that we scarcely have is also great. However, we genuinely do not organize events when we celebrate such things as Christmas,” Richardson said.

For Richardson, winter is also associated with her favorite tradition.

“Our favorite tradition is when we meet on Saturday because I think it is a good time for me to play with my friends, eat good food and also get encouraged by their words,” she said.

Some traditions are more valuable than others because they make a great impact on her as a person.

“I have learned that spending time with my friends is valuable and priceless because when you spend time with your friends and family they can teach you things about yourself and the world around you which can impact you for a lifetime,” she said. “I think that I would want to keep this tradition alive when I grow up so that I can do the same for them.”

Traditions, regardless how precious they are, may change as time goes on.

“I think traditions change on a frequent basis because we are never tired of doing things with our family even though they may be different every week,” Richardson said. “We still enjoy the time spent together, and also, when we do this, the traditions also may change by adding people who have their own traditions and things that they like to share with us.”
