Eating a chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A, junior Zach Fitzwater’s red shirt signifies that he is not just an average customer — he is also an employee. Starting to work at Chick-fil-A about six months ago, Fitzwater enjoys working with his co-workers.

“They’re really nice, and I think it’s a good environment to work in.”

Besides having a job, Fitzwater also participates in marching band, swimming and track at Derby High School. His favorite activity is swimming, which he has enjoyed since he was young.

I like swimming because “I get to do my own thing, and I get stuff off my mind,” Fitzwater said.

Although balancing work with extracurriculars can be challenging, Fitzwater meets the challenge with success.

“It’s difficult, but I somehow find time for everything,” he said.
