Page 3: Resolution recap

It’s two months into the new year, so it’s a perfect time to see how people are doing with their goals.

“Its Important in life to have goals cause if you don’t plan a end result your just gonna wonder around its easy to get lost.  even if you don’t achieve the full goal your looking for at least your heading in the direction and thats important,” counslor Dan Harrison said.

Junior Ty Phrommathed’s goal was to make sure he’s on track to graduate in 2024.

“It’s going good,” he said. “I’ve been caught up on a lot of things. With how it’s been going so far, I think I’ll be able to go through with it. I just keep my head up, be determined, finish all my things, then I’ll be able to do it.”

The new year can be a fresh start, whether it’s a renewed focus on going to the gym, school, sports, whatever your goal is, sticking to them is the toughest part.

“(I want to) get at least an A or B in every class,” junior Jacob Swetnam said. “I’m doing well. I have all As and Bs right now. It’s pretty easy, but I know I’ll be able to keep it up for the rest of the year.”

We all have different goals we want to pursue in life. Not everyone is gonna have the same goals, or even the same way to get there. There will be ups and downs but if you stay motivated and have perseverance you’ll be able to achieve them.

“My goal was to be a better student and turn in work on time not procrastinate, working on stuff before soccer season like foot skills and running for long periods of time,” junior Cassidy Boyer said. “I’ve kind of been able to keep up. I get kind of behind on the work. I have had slips up where stuff is late. Soccer is going good.”

Failing doesn’t have to result in just giving up. You can always keep going and restart. No one needs to wait until Jan. 1, 2024 to start – or restart – on a goal.

If you have a resolution you’re struggling with continuing your resolution Harrison’s advice is to “Take manageable steps. They don’t have to be big complicated ones they can start out as little goals then you can build upon those successes and add bigger goals.”
