State Testing Guidelines

Aubrey Nguyen, Content Editor

This week begins state assessment and hopefully, the measure put in place will help us move closer to the Needs Assessment Goal of moving students up from their assessment scores in 8th grade. Due to the format, the science assessment will take there will be no movement during Homeroom on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be no Homeroom today to give time back as we will steal time from those blocks for testing over the next two weeks.
Sophomores: Score a 3 or 4 on one or both of the ELA or Math assessments you don’t have to take the final in your English or Math class. (sophomore year only)
For each level, a student moves from their 8th-grade scores they will bank a scholarship credit to be used during their junior year towards a dance, game, or performance.
Juniors: Score a 3 or 4 on the science assessment and you do not have to take the final in your science class.  (Concurrent credit classes are exempt as we do not control the grading the college does)
