Derby remembers Janet Roach

Last week, Wichita State CNA College Coordinator Janet Roach, who taught Derby students, died. 

Roach is remembered as a caring educator who prioritized the achievement of her students as she took time from her busy schedule to teach career skills to her students. 

Her students saw her dedication to their success and her commitment to classroom excellence.

“She was very genuine and enthusiastic. She wanted all of her students to succeed and she was very engaged in her teaching,” junior Kimberly De Loera said.

Roach’s legacy impacted many, including her co-coordinator Daneen Simoneau who worked alongside her in the Wichita State University program.  

I am shocked and saddened by the loss of my colleague and friend Ms. Janet Roach,” Simoneau said. 

Roach was a positive light who impacted the lives of her students and her coworkers through her kindness and dedication in the workplace . 

“Ms. Roach was an accomplished professional who cared deeply for all of her students and was extremely proud of their success,” she explained. “She was a valuable asset in building the CNA program at Derby High School and will be greatly missed.”
