Locked out for lunch

Lunch is a time when many students eat in the hallways or in classrooms, but this is no longer an option after the K-hall doors were locked today.

The only way to get into K-hall during lunch is through a key card that is only held by staff in the building. This has caused students trying to get through the doors to stand in frustration and wait.

“This is really stupid because I spent my first half of my TA block practicing my cello, and in order to try and get back to my class and get my lunch, I’m locked out. So this needs to be stopped,” senior Alexis Stanton said.

Many students were inconvenienced and it caused problems for students in class and out of class. Those who were late to school, even with a pass, they couldn’t get past the doors.

“It’s really inconvenient because there is unattended clay in my class right now that is getting dry and it’s probably going to affect my grade,“ junior Armani Guerra said.

“It’s dumb because I have to go get my stuff and get it out of homeroom for my fourth block and I can’t,” freshman Hannah Morrison said.

Staff let students trying to get into K-hall in without asking or knowing why they needed to get past the locked doors.

“I’m OK with it because it’s nice to be gone from class a bit longer,” freshman Alyssa Rodriguez said.
