Perfect attendance

The new way of checking into homeroom has made it easier for some people and for others just frustrating

“You have to remember what your code is if you don’t have your ID, and if your ID is on your phone, you have to sort of flip it,” junior Karma Winegarner said.

It’s a new thing to remember to check in or else you will be counted absente.

“That’s another thing: you can forget to check in and then it would just count you absent,” junior Sarah Flynn said.

Homeroom teachers now don’t have to worry about taking attendance or writing out passes for every students that wants to come in for help.

“We wouldn’t have to make green passes, you would just check in and it saves paper,” teacher Mitchell Welch said.

DHS is expecting to use this process for all classes in 2023-24.
