What’s your favorite volleyball memory?
“My favorite volleyball memory would have to be going to Kansas University and spending time with my teammates and bonding with the girls I wasn’t close with before.”
How long have you been playing volleyball? (for DHS and/or anything else)
“I have been playing volleyball since my eighth-grade year. I didn’t play my sophomore year because my foot was fractured but I was a manager.”
Describe your hardest challenge you have faced this season.
“My biggest struggle this year has been blocking it has been very frustrating because all I am thinking about when I go up to block is ‘are the passers behind me’ — and I always feel bad when they get slammed with a ball because I can’t block it.”
How is teamwork shown in you team?
“Teamwork is a huge thing in any sport but especially in volleyball. I myself get in my head a lot when I am playing but I always try my best to stay positive even though it doesn’t always work out that way.
How do you stay mentally focused throughout an entire match?
“Sometimes it can be very hard — I try to focus on the next point, and put whatever just happened behind me and focus on the future plays of the game.”
What do you do after your games?
“The next day when the film is released on Hudl, I watch my highlights…and then watch the game and see what I could’ve done better.”
What do you think sets volleyball apart from other sports?
Who are your biggest supporters when it comes to your volleyball career?
“My mom and my stepdad all the way. They came to every game — even the far ones — took me to all my club practices and paid for all my summer camps. I will always be grateful for the opportunities they provided me.”
