From the bright twinkling lights to the joyful carols, Christmas is one of the most happy times of the year.
While others start the Christmas season after Thanksgiving, as a Christmas enthusiast, I start Nov. 1.
We need to normalize this.
The anticipation of Christmas drives me crazy. Why wait for all of the exhilaration
when you can start earlier by decorating in November?
If you wait until after Thanksgiving, that’s around a month of enjoying Christmas. But by starting Nov. 1, I’ve increased my happiness by 3-4 weeks.
The holiday can be stressful enough with shopping, going to parties, wrapping gifts, visiting family and pre taking on other holiday traditions. So why not get a head start?
The holiday starting earlier gives more time to shop which makes the stores less crowded and less overwhelming.
According to bizjournals.com, 43% of people decorate during or before thanksgiving.
So why is it still treated as such a peculiar thing? People commonly make the argument that you will get sick of it before Christmas, I wont get sick of it.
Christmas can be celebrated in many different ways to keep it exciting.
Things that can be done are decorating the house, going to see Christmas lights, Christmas party, movie nights, building gingerbread houses, baking sugar cookies with family and ice skating; which are just a few things you can do in the holiday season.
Christmas can last as long as you make it, so you might as well indulge.
