While some kids choose to do football or baseball, sophomore Gavin Hinkley fell in love with ice hockey. Growing up in Alaska, ice hockey surrounded Hinkley and quickly swept him up.
“When I moved to Alaska, my dad saw a hockey program and asked if I was interested,” Hinkley said.
Making the move to Kansas did not prevent Hinkley from keeping up his hockey passions and aspirations.
“I play for the Junior Thunder and the games are every weekend and usually out of state in Missouri,” Hinkley said.
