On Nov. 28, the boys swim and dive team had two state qualifiers after their first meet of the season. 

Junior Jared Hays qualified in state for the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.13. The qualification time was 51.19 and also in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:15.15. Senior Mykal Berry qualified for state as well in diving. 

“I’m pretty stoked about it, this is one of the events that in previous years before it took me a lot of meets to get under the cut that I needed for the 100 freestyle. Being able to qualify for such a fast race like that in just the first meet of the season I’m still pretty stoked about it,” Hays said.
