Every senior hopes that their last competition, no matter what kind, will be at the state level. For senior Jesse Whiteside that dream will be a reality.
On Saturday, Whiteside and the DHS Scholar’s Bowl team will compete at Wichita East in the state tournament.
“My favorite thing about Scholar’s Bowl is going to meets and competing against other people in trivia,” Whiteside said.
Whiteside has been participating in Scholar’s Bowl since sixth grade, and he has loved it ever since.
“I like being in Scholar’s Bowl because it provides an activity where I can compete with trivia like Jeopardy,” Whiteside said. “I also enjoy how connected everyone is in scholars bowl.”
Qualifying for the state tournament was a huge accomplishment for the team, and Whiteside is excited to have one last competition for himself and his team.
“I feel great that we qualified because we were able to have a comeback year from last years regional tournament as well as be able to have one last tournament for Scholar’s Bowl,” Whiteside said.
