This past Saturday, music students from DHS participated in the KSHSAA Regional Solo and Small Ensemble Festival at Wichita Heights high school. Students work very hard to prepare pieces for this event.
There were 24 DHS students who received a 1 rating, which is the highest rating possible, and will advance to the state competition on April 27.
“When I got a 1 on my solo, I was extremely excited,” junior Aleah Jones said. “Since it was my first competition solo, I had no idea what to expect. The 1 is a great accomplishment, and I am thrilled to be able to go to the state festival.”
