Yearbook nearing finish a bittersweet moment for editor

Kaytlin Hilton

The yearbook is almost finished – and it’s bittersweet

Just like the yearbook itself, the class is full of vibrant memories. I could go on and on about the things I am going to miss the most about this class and this experience, but I will save that for later.

Not only did yearbook class bring opportunities of creativity and the space to be myself, it brought me a position to step up and be a leader for those around me.

Yearbook is not just a class where we sit around after school eating food and chit-chatting.

It is a class that takes time – and lots of it – to create a product for our fellow students. This a student-led production that takes effort from every single staff member.

However, throughout all of the long nights and the very long mornings, I developed a sense of pride in what is finally coming together.

Our 264-page book is on its 190th page. There are 74 pages left to design, and only a few weeks remaining.

As we advance into the homestretch, full of frantic deadlines and submissions, we must remember the big picture.

We are almost finished. We have almost done it.
