On May 16, five Derby High seniors returned to their elementary school. The graduates — Jade Johnson, Rileigh Mahoney, Lexi Winkle, Summer Reece and Hannah Berk — walked through the school as elementary students clapped as they passed.

“Seeing you guys, just brings back so many memories of different things that happened to you when you were little and how you’ve changed and how competent you look now and how focused you are, and all of that when we see that our work as when you were little paid off,” music teacher Susan Hearn said. “And we don’t always get to see the results of our kids as they grow but seeing you today really makes us proud.”
