Junior Taylre Ward, a passionate ice skater, finds joy and compassion at the Wichita Ice Rink.
“I’ve been ice skating since I was 7, after my first lesson I couldn’t stop,” Ward said.
For Ward, the best part of skating isn’t just the sport itself, but the time spent with friends, sharing laughs and supporting each other’s progress.
“Going to compete with my friends is the best, I love just the behind the scenes almost,” Ward said.
Over the years, Ward has competed in 15 competitions, each one building confidence and skill. While the thrill of competition is undeniable, it’s the bonds formed and memories created with her skating friends that she cherishes most. Ice skating is more than just a sport; it’s a community.
