The cross country team will be teaming up with rivals Campus High School to help Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, a charity program that helps kids that are ill and need financial help for medical costs.

The teams will run a relay to bring the game ball from Campus High to Panther Stadium in support of Wichita’s Littlest Heroes.

Runners on each team will take turns running the ball eight miles to midfield at the Panther Stadium.

Fans can buy a $1 raffle ticket for a chance to win the game ball. T-shirts, which cost $12, are available; proceeds go to Wichita’s Littlest Heroes.

“Families from both communities of this organization get together to do this,”

Derby cross country coach Jimmy Adams said. “We give them a big check that will help them.”

Derby (6-0) will play Campus (4-2) at 7 p.m.
