Football team continues to dominate

The Derby Panthers football team has been dominating their competition all season, outscoring teams 314-26.

“We’ve been so successful this season because we play as a team and continue to get better each week,” senior Bryce Westmoreland said.

Senior Dax Benway agreed.

“Whenever it comes to game time, we’re always ready and we play hard,” Benway said.

Derby is 6-0.

Benway believes that if the Panthers “keep playing hard, keep getting focused and taking it one week at a time,” they will finish the season unbeaten.

On Friday the Panthers play host to the Campus Colts at Panther Stadium. The Colts (4-2) haven’t beaten the Panthers since 1988.

“We’re approaching them like any other team by staying focused and having fun. They’re a good team with great athletes and we plan on coming out Friday and playing our game,” Westmoreland said.
