Boys soccer travels to Liberal for regional championship

Tonight the boys soccer team will be traveling to Liberal to play for the Class 6A regional championship.

The boys soccer team is 13-4 and seeded No. 5. Liberal is 9-2 and seeded No. 4.

Derby advanced to the regional final by beating Lawrence Free State 6-5 in penalty kicks. Senior Malik Bryant had tied the score at 1-1, but the game went into two 10-minute overtimes and two five-minute overtimes.

Then it was on to PKs. Senior Brady Hestand had the winning PK.
