On Wednesday, the second annual Educators Rising Conference was held at the Alvin E.  Morris Administrative Center.

Eighteen of Derby High School’s Ed Rising club members participated in the conference as well as contributing to making it all happen. Setting up tables, handing out name tags and welcoming people to the conference were just a few of the ways they helped out.

Some students also competed in various competitions including: lesson planning, TED Talks, children’s literature, impromptu speaking, interviews and more.

Throughout the day, 30-minute breakout sessions were held where students could pick where and what they wanted to see.

Some topics of discussion were dyslexia, bilingual teaching, deaf and blind educators, and technology affecting modern schooling. Some Kansas colleges were also present during the conference and had informational booths available to students all day.
