Clemons key to Panthers’ dominant defense

After two straight home games and a four-game winning, the Panthers travel to Salina again, this time to take on the Salina South Cougars (1-3).

The Panthers have given up 26 points and have recorded two shutouts, including the impressive Sept. 27 shut down of a high-caliber team like the Bishop Carroll Eagles.

One of the key defensive players is senior safety Ladell Clemons, who played behind Migc Aiyanyor and Dax Benway, who graduated in 2018.

It’s not easy to transfer into such a prestigious program, but Clemons hasn’t shied away one bit.

“I always want to be more like myself,” Clemons said. But he did “look up to” Aiyanyor and Benway, learning from them all season. He especially appreciated how Benway led the team.
