Volleyball continues cruising with tourney title, win over Newton

The volleyball notched an epic milestone at the Andover tournament on Oct. 5. 

The Panthers went 6-0 and took first place. 

It was a huge win for the team and also accomplished one of the Panthers’ goals.

On Tuesday, Derby hosted a triangular against Newton and Maize, again taking a sweeping win over both teams. The Panthers avenged their lone AVCTL I loss against Newton Oct. 1.

The team is now atop the league standings at 9-1. 

Overall, the Panthers hold a 23-6 record and are ranked No. 8 in Class 6A by the Kansas Volleyball Association.

The Panthers host their tournament on Saturday, with play starting at 9 a.m.
