One-acts an opportunity for drama students

For freshmen and sophomores, securing a part in one of DHS’s larger productions may prove to be challenging.

To get students involved, drama is putting on a series of three one-act plays: Check Please, Lockdown and This Is a Test

The one-act plays focus on relateable and current topics that students may find themselves. They are open to anyone wishing to audition.

Check Please is about a series of first dates that go horribly wrong.

“I like Check Please because it is the show I did my freshman year. There are also a bunch of weird characters, so it makes the show interesting,” Bradley Roudybush said.

Lockdown takes place during an active school shooter scenario.

Lastly, This Is a Test follows a girl through a test. It highlights the difficulties of test taking and showcases what goes on in someone’s head while testing.

“I like that it speaks for bullying and shows all that goes on during a test. It’s very fun and creative,” Haley Brown said.
