Boys basketball falls in matchup of ranked teams

The Derby boys basketball team, which is ranked No. 3 in Class 6A, faced Campus, the No. 1 team in 6A. Both were 6-0.

The Panthers fell short to the Colts 56-53 on Tuesday.

Senior Tre Washington had a team-high of 14 points, while senior Nick Bonner and junior Isaac Ray both scored 12 points. 

The girls team beat the Colts  63-19.

Freshman Maryn Archer and junior Derryana Cobbins both scored in double digits.

Archer had a game-high 17 points and has reached double digits in five of seven games.

The girls are now 6-1.

The Panthers will host the Andover Trojans on Friday

The girls game is at 6 p.m., while the boys is at 7:30 p.m.
