The oxymoron love slap is a term KAY Club adapted for a kind gesture you do for someone without them knowing.

On Oct. 20, KAY Club board members, members and one of their sponsors, teacher Michelle Forsberg, visited the Derby Fire Department on Rock Road and Madison Avenue, as well as the Derby Police Department.

Members drew pictures and wrote positive messages with sidewalk chalk at the entrances of each building.

“My favorite part of doing this love slap was making an obstacle course at the police station for officers and getting one officer to test it out while we were there. It was pretty wholesome,” sophomore Alivia Turner said.

KAY Club already has plans for their next love slap victim.
