On Friday, the Panthers traveled into Lawrence and were able to knock off the No. 1-seeded Chesty Lions 40-20 to advance to the Class 6A semifinals.

After a fumble from sophomore Dylan Edwards on the game’s opening kickoff, he was able to take the ensuing kickoff to the house, giving the Panthers all the momentum needed to take care of business after falling behind 6-0.

The Panthers held Lawrence’s running back Devin Neal in check the whole game as the Lawrence offense was locked up by the Derby defense.

The backfield duo of Lem Wash and Edwards lived up to the hype once again as Wash rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one.

Edwards added three touchdowns l.

The Panthers will travel to Junction City next week to take on the Blue Jays.
