What happens when the wifi goes down

On Jan. 8, the wifi at Derby went down. While the wifi was back up by the end of Block 2, during the time we are in right now, teachers need wifi to keep all students engaged

It’s especially vital in order to connect with the online students, so teachers had to work around the problem to be able to get stuff done.

Losing network connectivity interferes heavily with my class not only because of the programming work itself, but between Canvas and other online tools, my curriculum ‘lives’ online. I don’t have textbooks like many other teachers might have,” Computer Science and Cybersecurity teacher Jeff Yearout said.

Most teachers just let students have a somewhat free day because it wouldn’t be fair to continue teaching while half the students are not able to learn and participate.
