Winter sports updates

  • Varsity bowling competes today in the class 6A regional tournament in Topeka at 1:30 p.m.
  • Freshman Amara Ehsa placed fifth overall in class 6A girls state wrestling, becoming the first lady Panther in history to place and qualify in a state competition. 
  • Varsity boys wrestling will take on state at Hartman arena on Saturday.
  • Junior Will McCabe took fifth at state for swim and dive, beating his own personal record and setting a new record for DHS in the 500-yard freestyle. 
  • Swim and dive has also taken on Choose Your Challenge by the Make-A-Wish foundation and thus far raised $2,810 of their $3,000 goal. 
  • The Swim to a Wish event, where five boys will swim 100 miles for the Make-A-Wish foundation, starts today at 4 p.m at Campus High School
  • Varsity boys basketball finished last night with a win of 67-53, putting an end to their regular season and propelling them forward into the postseason. 
  • Varsity girls basketball ended the night with a sweeping victory of 63-17 over Newton and will host sub-state at home on March 3.
