Shay: Give yourself grace

Nik Shay, Design Team

With the end of this school year approaching fast, some students are starting to feel like they could have done more with their grades.

However, they should be less hard on themselves — this year has been difficult for all of us.

Now, there’s a difference between trying your best and still falling short and just not trying. But to those who tried their best to get good grades, don’t be hard on yourself.

Many students suffered from mental health struggles this year, and from personal experience, it is really difficult to climb out of a pit full of missing assignments.

The pressure has caused some straight A students to drop to A, B and C or lower students.

So to those reading this, whether you are a student or a teacher, just know that you aren’t alone. There are people who support you no matter what, and one year’s worth of grades or teaching doesn’t define who you are.
