Philharmonic choir students competing for the first time

Philharmonic students will attend Wichita State’s choral festival on March 28. This festival helps choir students prepare for contest next month, as they will receive feedback from judges after performing their songs.

Because of the pandemic, choir students haven’t gotten to compete. Even the seniors are competing for the first time.

“No one in high school has competed because all the seniors were freshmen the last time we went to festival,” senior Sophia Pierce started, “I’m kind of excited, pretty neutral like not scared or anything because i know we have a good choir program.”

Senior Abby Bringhurst added: “I am scared because I don’t know what to anticipate before.”

But she thinks the feedback will be helpful.
