Baseball is on a roll and gearing up for some big games.
The Panthers blew out Campus in a sweep, winning the first game 19-5 and the second 15-0.
“Against Campus Colby Morgan, Cayden Brown and Clayton Knoblock pitched it extremely well. That was a big key to the wins yesterday,” coach Todd Olmstead said.
Besides top-notch showings by the pitchers, the Panthers hit well.
Senior Luke Westerman, junior Braden Horn and senior Jaydon Jackson hit home runs.
“Most of the starters all had 3-4 hits for the two games,” Olmstead said.
The Panthers have been doing well on the defensive side of things, too, with Olmstead said, 12 errors in 10 games.
This Saturday will be a real challenge.
“Olathe West is ranked No. 1 in 6A right now, with guys committed to K-State, (Oklahoma) and Arkansas,” Olmstead said.
The Panthers play Olathe West at 6 p.m. Saturday at KU’s Hoglund Ballpark.
