Page 2 – What’s yappening: Passing period’s the perfect time for teachers to catch up with each other

During the five-minute passing period, there are often teachers talking to each other in the halls. They can be seen standing outside their classroom in groups or even in pairs.

Teachers stand in the hall as a way to deter any issues among students.

There is usually a group of history teachers in P-hall, as well as some of the science teachers in A-hall.

“Just a tiny, tiny science gang,” Biomedical science teacher Kathleen O’Brien said.

O’Brien and Biology teacher Christina Gizzarelli love to “spill the tea’” in between periods and talk about their pets at home.

Having this connection with their colleagues is a nice way to bond over shared interests, or even just catch up on life.

“We talk about how our weekend was, our future travel plans, what workouts we plan to go to for the week – we workout together quite often – and how class is going, what activities we do in class,” math teacher Molly Adams said.
